Bevelle, religious capital of Spira (the world of FFX and FFX-2 for playstation 2, and soon for PS3 and PS Vita), is a city that stands on the sea, consequence of an ancient an highly technologic society.

Construction materials for this one aren’t really explained in the game but we could just assume reinforced concrete and stainless steel should do the trick, inherited construction technologies perhaps?.

This is a one of a kind city, with a butterfly scheme (viewed from the top) with sharp edged walls for defense purposes, no doubt. Being a religious capital, obviously the high temple is at the top of the city, in the highest tower, a place in the checklist for every soon-to-be summoner.

In an urbanistic sense, Bevelle reminds me a lot of the trace italienne or Venetian star fort, mostly because of its sharp corners on the outside walls, upgrading the city defense +10! and of course, cannon an turret vision +10 also (in a somewhat videogam-ish explanation). This trace evolved in Italy by the XV century during the age of gunpowder and proved to be highly effective against attacking enemies.

Here i leave for you a cinematic from Final Fantasy X, where you can see a lot more of this city!

—–End of Spoiler—–

In short what i can tell you about Bevelle is that it’s one of those imaginary environments that make me wish humanity could build something as awesome as this.
That is all from me today Bloggies, feel free to comment, discern, and of course recommend me more places to review, see you on friday!
