Hey there bloggies! happy wednesday! i thought i had to show you one of my favorite worlds inside fiction, that is of course the world where the Anime Series Sword Art Online (here you can watch all episodes free!!) takes place: Aincrad

So… what is it i find amazing about this world, you might ask? Aincrad (short name for An Incarnating Radius) is a world inside a video game (in the series) its a ten-kilometer radius tower with one hundred stacked floors, and each and everyone of this floors has maybe a couple of cities, a bunch of towns and of course some dungeons, mountains and forests; so we’re talking of a really really huge tower, which is part of its charm. The design for the flying tower its based on time expressed by its vertical axis and space expressed by the circular floors.

It is supposedly made of iron and stone on the outside, and every floor counts with only one stairway leading to the next, obviously you have to defeat the boss of each level to get through. The objective of the game is to reach the 100th floor by defeating all levels and all bosses (don’t worry, this is no spoiler you get to know this on the first episode). By the way i just read that it is possible “in game” to climb the outside of the tower, but when entering a floor that hasn’t been unlocked will result in being blocked by a barrier.

For me it’s not only about the size of this world, it’s about all the sorts of locations inside, varying from caves, lakes, cities and even some sceneries outdoors containing a beautiful level design, floating platforms and reinterpretations of graveyards and temples.
I encourage you to watch this series even if you’re not really that into Anime, for it’s environment can inspire you like few others, and of course if you enjoy Video games, specially MMORPG’s (i think you already know what it stands for) this will blow your mind off!

So tell me what do you think of Aincrad bloggies!, you like it? you don’t? why?
